Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp has announced a new feature that allows users to follow people or organizations the users want to get updates from.
Taking to Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg shared that the new feature was called ‘WhatsApp Channels’, where the messaging app users would be given the opportunity to follow organizations or people who matter to them.
According to the video, Connect is separate from the user’s personal chat and would show up on the new updates tab where all the channels that the user wants to follow would be found.

It was made clear that in order to enable privacy because that is what the messaging app is about, the Channel admin’s phone number would not be revealed to followers, and vice versa.
It was also explained that updates gotten from the Channels would be deleted in 30 days as it was also added that they are other things that would be added in the later future.
“Today we’re announcing WhatsApp Channels — a private way to follow people and organizations that matter to you, right within WhatsApp. We are starting in Singapore and Colombia, but will roll out to everyone later this year,” Mark Zuckerberg said.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp upgraded its application with a feature that allows one to lock his/her chats.
The announcement of this new feature was made by the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook.
According to him, the amazing attribute will give the user top-notch privacy in which nobody will be able to know the conversation between the user and whoever is in his/her password-protected archive.
