There are many smartphones in the entry-level and budget range of Infinix in the Indian market. The company launched Infinix Smart 6 HD in the entry-level segment a few days ago. This smartphone offers better features at a lower price.
The device gets a 5000mah battery as well as 8MP AI rear camera. We have used this smartphone for a long time. If you are thinking of buying a new smartphone cheaply, then you can know everything about the features and shortcomings of Infinix Smart 6 HD here.
Infinix Smart 6 Variant and Price
Infinix Smart 6 is available in three variants. And these are the Smart 6 3G (or X657), Smart 6 4G (or X6511B), and Smart 6 Plus (X6511G). As expected, the cheapest one among the three is the Smart 6 3G, while the highest-priced one is the Smart 6 Plus.
All the Infinix smart 6 variants come in the body of Smart 5, and each of them has the same 6.6-inch 720p display, 8-megapixel dual back camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage space, and 5000mAh battery as the earlier model.
However, each of them has its unique features, which help differentiate them from the others. Starting from the Infinix Smart 6 3G. Keep in mind that this variant is still the same as the cheapest variant of the Smart 5, i.e., Infinix Smart 5 (X657).
The Infinix Smart 6 is sold at N45,000 on average. The confirmed price range is between N45,000 and N60,000 maximum. This price range is what it’s sold for on mobile shops online and local offline mobile shops all over Nigeria.

Smart 3G
Infinix Smart 6 3G is the only one of the three latest phones with a rectangular-shaped camera module like the Smart 5.
Like Smart 5, the dual camera and LED flash on the back of this phone are also arranged in an Inverted L manner (inside the camera bump). Smart 3 G also has the same 8-megapixel front-facing camera and the same 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU. Infinix Smart 6 3G is fitted with the MediaTek MT6580 CPU,
Infinix Smart 4G
While it’s easy to spot the Smart 6 3G (as a result of its rectangular-shaped camera bump) among the three latest phones, it’s difficult to tell apart Infinix Smart 6 4G (X6511B) from the Smart 6 Plus (X6511G) because both of these variants have identical square-shaped camera bumps.
The two phones’ rear cameras and LED lights are placed at the four corners of their square-shaped camera bumps. Therefore, it is impossible to physically tell apart the difference between Infinix Smart 6 4G and Smart 6 Plus unless you go straight to their Phone Settings.
Smart 6 4G (X6511B) is fitted with a lower 5-megapixel front camera. The Unisoc SC9863A CPU powers Infinix Smart 6 4G, and the Plus variant is equipped with the MediaTek Helio A22 CPU.

The cameras
The 8-megapixel dual rear camera of each phone takes decent pictures. The colors look good and do not appear washed out or overblown (especially the ones from the Plus variant).
However, these pictures are not detailed or sharp compared to the slightly more expensive entry-level phones, especially those with 13-megapixel rear cameras.
It is general knowledge that what you get with a phone like this is either a 5-megapixel or 8-megapixel front-facing camera. But we still find it baffling why Infinix would put a 5-megapixel lens on the front of the Smart 6 4G, and put an 8-megapixel lens on the front of the 3G variant.
However, neither of the front cameras of these phones disappoints either. Because, like those of the costlier budget phones, the selfies from the three variants (especially the ones from the Plus and 3G variants) are detailed and clear.
Meanwhile, both the front and rear cameras of all the variants are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps (frame per second).
The Batteries
Like other entry-level infinite smart series, all three variants of the Infinix Smart 6 are equipped with 5000mAh batteries, but none of them support fast charging. Therefore, and with their out-of-the-box 10W chargers, it might take you about four hours to fully charge these phones’ batteries when it drops to one percent.
Smart 6 Series Processors
Unlike the Unisoc SC9863A and Helio A22 of the respective Smart 6 and Smart 6 Plus, the MT6580 of the Smart 6 (X657) doesn’t support 4G LTE. And it’s also the least powerful of the three.
MediaTek MT6580 is a 28nm Cortex-A7 quad-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. On the other hand, The Unisoc SC9863A that powered Smart 6 4G is a 28nm Cortex-A55 Octa-Core processor with clock speeds of up to 1.6 GHz.
The MediaTek Helio A22 that powered Smart 6 Plus is a 12nm Cortex-A53 Quad-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz.
Despite the fact that SC9863A is an Octa-Core processor, it has almost the same processing power as the Helio A22. This may be because the Smart 6 Plus has a faster clock speed. Smart 6 Plus is slightly more power efficient than the Smart 6 4G. It was concluded that it has to do with its MediaTek chipset.
Also, out of the three chipsets, the MT6580 (of the 3G variant) has the least powerful GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). This is not surprising because it is also the one with the least powerful CPU.
While the Unisoc SC9863A and Helio A22 are fitted with PowerVR GE8322 and PowerVR GE8320 GPUs, respectively, MT6580 is fitted with the Mali-400 GPU. But, despite the fact that the other two GPUs are better than the Mali-400, they are still not designed for high-graphics gaming.
Meanwhile, as a result of their low RAMs and low-end processors, all three phones are running on the lighter (Go Edition) versions of Android OS (Operating System).

Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the Infinix Smart 6 offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a micro-USB port for charging and data transfer. The device also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Look/Feel/Design
The smartphone is built with a glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame. The Unisoc SC9863A Octa-core processor powers the device. Infinix Smart 6 comes with a 6.6 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 720 x 1600 pixels resolution.
Now talking about the design of the smartphone, it is getting a big display. The front of the phone has a notch in the center for the selfie camera. There is a flashlight next to it, which is visible only during use.
Its back panel comes with a matte finish. For this reason, fingerprints will not come on the phone while using it. Infinix is written on the bottom left side of the rear panel. At the same time, the camera module is given at the top left side.
Power and volume buttons are provided on the right side of the phone’s frame. The SIM tray is on the left side. At the same time, there is a speaker, audio jack, charging port, and microphone at the bottom.
The size of this phone is also fine. It can be held comfortably in hand. Also, there will be no problem operating it with one hand. The design and size of the phone are good for this price segment.
Smart Series Ram
They all have the same 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage capacities. Each phone’s internal storage capacity can also be expanded through a microSD card.
Sensors/Biometric/Security
The smart series comes with sensors such as Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, and proximity. The phone runs on the Android 11 (Go edition) + XOS 7.6 operating system.
For Security, they have FaceUthe Rear-mounted fingerprint reader. They also have Location (Geo, Glonass), Radio.
Colour
It comes in different colors, such as Purple, Ocean Blue, Light Sea Green, and Polar Black. It is packed with 2 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage options.
Conclusion
The Infinix Smart 6 is a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a number of features and specifications that are competitive with other devices in its price range. The device boasts a large HD+ display, a powerful quad-core processor, and a large battery that provides long-lasting performance.
