Gangs of Lagos
Gangs of Lagos just recently came out and let me tell you something! It is worth the hype! Definitely worth the hype.
It is about a group of friends who each have to navigate their own destiny, growing up on the bustling streets and neighborhood of Isale Eko, Lagos. Tobi Bakre and Adesua Etomi-Wellington are great actors in this movie.
Don’t stay too much on Twitter, though, because you may get upset about the analysis done by trolls. It is one of the best recent Nollywood movies.

Domitilla
I really did not know that this movie was a sequel; I had to research that the first one was done in 1996. This new movie came out on April 1st. It basically talks about the life of sex workers in Nigeria.
Nigerian filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, is basically retelling the original story. The movie is full of action and suspense as one event sets off a chain of additional events.

Battle on Buka Street
This is a 2022 Nigerian comedy-drama film directed by Funke Akindele and director newcomer, Tobi Makinde.
This movie is basically about the battle between two women who confront each other in a food challenge in order to win the prestigious ‘King of Buka Street’, a title conferred to the best local food seller in the region.
You know Funke always does well with comedies, so you need to watch it! It is one of the recent Nollywood movies worth seeing.

Shanty Town
Although it’s not a movie, this limited series speaks about the various activities in Lagos gangs.
What I love about the movie… you know what? Scratch that, what I love most about the movie is the stellar cast. Seeing Chidi Mokeme made me so happy. Plus it was a really educative movie that spoke about various things in Nigeria, most importantly how juju is very used for protection.

Brotherhood
Brotherhood is a Nigerian crime-action thriller produced by the legendary Jade Osiberu. It stars Big Brother Naija ex-contestant, Tobi Bakre, Boma Akpore, and known celebrities Falz, Basketmouth, Sam Dede, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Toni Tones, Zubby Micheal, Mr. Macaroni.
The movie captures two brothers from different places in life. Akin is on the wrong side of the law and Femi is a police detective. And if there is one thing we know, it’s that Jade never misses with her movies.

King of Thieves (Agẹṣinkólé)
This is a 2022 Nigerian thriller film produced by Femi Adebayo and directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani.
It stars Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, Lateef Adedimeji, and Ibrahim Chatta.
Ijakumo (The Born Again Stripper)
This masterpiece is a 2022 suspense thriller produced by Toyin Abraham and features an ensemble cast including Kunle Remi, Lolade Okusanya, Bimbo Akintola, Olumide Oworu, and Lillian Afegbai, among others.
It tells the story of Asabi, the daughter of a powerful spiritualist who is hell-bent on destroying the life of her ex-lover, a now renowned Lagos big pastor, who cheated her and left her to die.

Dinner at My Place

The film is based on a Nigerian-American man who plans to propose to his girlfriend over dinner. But to his surprise, things become worse as far as his intentions were concerned when his ex-girlfriend spoils the fun by entering the picture and showing up uninvited.

Anikulapo
Who did not love this? Tell me… who didn’t? This movie was top-notch and even trended on social media for so long!
It tells the story of Saro, a man seeking greener pastures in the kingdom of Oyo. However, unfolding events and his affair with the Alaafin’s wife lead to his untimely death and a new life beyond his dreams.
Kunle Remi and Bimbo Ademoye bodied their roles in this movie!
