A creative Nigerian man has shocked netizens with his innovative idea after he built a three-bedroom apartment with 17,800 plastic bottles.
The man named Engr Yahaya Ahmed is the director of a non-governmental organization, Developmental Association of Renewable Energies in Nigeria (DARE), and the innovative house was to encourage Nigerians to recycle wastes.
The Civil Engineer explained that waste recycling helps to ensure a safer environment and will also create more jobs in Nigeria.

A Bulletproof And Fireproof House
He also narrated that the house built with plastic bottles is bulletproof, earthquake-resistant, fireproof, and can adapt to various kinds of climate changes.
“The house is 20 times stronger than brick walls houses and can last for over 300 years if constructed properly and carefully,” he said.
Benefits Of Building A Plastic House
Engr Yahaya Ahmed told BBC Pidgin that the building which is the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa, is cheaper to build as it cost just one-third of the price to build a similar house using cement.
Moreover, the building materials can easily be sourced from the streets and dumpsites.
Another additional benefit is that the house is very cool, and doesn’t generate heat unlike houses built with cement.
Interstingly, modern house houses, including storey-building can be done using the plastic bottles according to Engineer Yahaya Ahmed,
His added that his organisation has trained many youths in waste recycling.

Nigerian man builds surprisingly beautiful mud house with N1.3m
Meanwhile, a Nigerian man displayed a surprisingly beautiful mud house he built with 1.3 million Naira.
The foundation stage of the house was shown in a Tiktok video posted by a building expert known as Lawrance.
The house, unlike conventional mud houses, was also plastered with cement, making it difficult to notice that it was made of mud.
